Basis of our Faith

IN WHAT THE ANGLICANS BELIEVE
As Anglican members of St. Paul's Church, we believe in::

  • The Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One Eternal, Loving, Powerful and all knowing God;
  • The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament the Bible - as being the true word of God; containing all things necessary to salvation, by which the Church changes and reviews its traditions;
  • That the guilty sinner is justified by God, by faith, only for the merit of Jesus Christ's sacrifice. That a life of good deeds follows that justification;is justified by God, by faith, only for the merit of Jesus Christ's sacrifice. That a life of good deeds follows that justification;
  • The one sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon the cross Jesus Christ as our only mediator to the Father and His death as the one sacrifice for our sins;
  • The two sacraments ordained by Jesus Christ in the Gospel, Baptism and Holy Communion;
  • Acknowledge the other five Sacramental Rites Confirmation, Penance or Confession of Sins, Orders, Matrimony, and Extreme Unction, which are not to be counted as Sacraments of the Gospel, but are part of Christian life;
  • The offering of Christ upon the cross, is that one perfect redemption, propitiation and satisfaction for all the sins of all the world.
  • That sinners can reach God by faith and prayers through Jesus Christ as only mediator;
  • The efficiency of prayer as a daily practice in petition for our need or as intercession which is accepted by God;
  • The obligation of good deeds fperformed with love, which do not lead to salvation but are the result of a life of faith;
  • The new spiritual birth by repentance and through the Holy Spirit, the giver of life;
  • The authority of the Church, which shall never perish and is represented by the historical Orders of Bishops, Priests and Deacons;
  • Attending Church Services regularly which are performed in the tongue as the people understand, by ministers representing Apostolic authority;
  • The affirmations of the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, which resume the Christian Faith since the first centuries;
  • The continuos building of the Church based on the Bible, the Creeds and Tradition interpreted by reason and always subjected to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
