A Quarta-feira de Cinzas na Igreja é um momento especial porque nos introduz precisamente no mistério quaresmal. É o primeiro dia da Quaresma no calendário cristão ocidental. As cinzas que os cristãos recebem neste dia é um símbolo para a reflexão sobre o dever da conversão, da mudança de vida, recordando a passageira, transitória, efêmera fragilidade da vida humana.
